Millions of souls throughout time have perished at sea or by water.  Not one nation, not one family tree has been spared.  The book "Souls of the Sea" is a work of love and respect; it will be a tribute to all those souls.  People from around the world are invited to be the creators of this book.  On a soul level, we are one nation.   Special Note:  Due to the overwelming volume of responses, I am pleased to announce that this book will be redesigned and expanded.  Please continue to send your images and thoughts.  The new version will be on line soon.

Virtual Log

You are cordially invited to call upon the poet, the artist, the philosopher, or the explorer within you and express yourself directly online in this virtual log.  Your vision, in words or images, of the sea, the souls, humanity, or the hope for a better world will be greatly appreciated.  The testimonials gathered will be compiled into a great book called "Souls of the Sea" (See details at the bottom of this page)

Please note that your comments will be approved and could be shortened before they are put in the book so as  to ensure the respect towards the human soul.  Copyrights are to be respected, the organisers of this project will not be held responsible if there are infringements.

The book "Souls of the Sea" is a voluntary work of art.   This project is a personal endeavour conceived in the summer of 2004.

Why 2005?  The year 2005 is significant for me, as 250 years will have passed since the flame of the Acadian nation was almost extinguished.  Men, women and children of this peaceful nation were forced to leave their homeland; many were deported to other countries, and a great number perished at sea.  Today, more than two centuries later, I feel a rush of love and hope towards all of humanity and I'm inspired by the spirit of my forebears to succeed with this dynamic project.  In my heart, I bequeath this book to the Acadian people.  In my soul, the life that vibrates throughout this book is there for all humanity.

A vision of peace.  How does a person transform tragic events into a vision of love and peace?  I cannot feel disconnected from the African people, as they also have suffered through a deportation.  Nor can I distance myself from people who, through their work, have perished a sea; or remain indifferent towards explorers, travelers or any soul who, with the passage of time, have been swallowed by the sea.

The sharing of this book with the entire world.  This tribute is made available online so that all can be inspired by testimonies of people towards all the "Souls of the Sea", no matter their land of origin, the colour of their skin, their culture, their language or their ideologies.  Share this invitation with your family and all your friends.  This book is without borders.
