Artist Statement

The human body as a mysterious shrine and the sacredness of life are my inspiration. In my art, these insights come into being as archetypes playing roles in the creation of a world through mind and imagination, or as symbolic imagery brought forth from stories of ancient myths and pagan beliefs.
My artistic process is natural and intuitive. I abandon myself to my hunter gatherer instincts, searching for objects and artefacts marked by the patina of time. Images coalesce on canvas and sculptures find life through stone, clay, iron, or found objects. These images and relics become icons of survival, sentient beings living their lives in the dimensional planes of their painted and sculptured worlds.
Life is perfection. It is with the innocence of a child that I cede to the creative process. I rejoice in the freedom to explore the unspoken truths and the unfathomable mystery of being.
